An Evaluation of the Materials Deployed in English Language Proficiency Courses for Postgraduate Applicants: A Content- Based Study

چکیده
There is broad recognition that a textbook, among other components, plays an important role in many English language classrooms today. As result, its evaluation significant issue to guarantee contribution the success of teaching- learning process. Evaluating textbooks and instructional materials used contexts one responsibilities teachers. The adopted Kurdistan university centers are no exception. Hence, present paper attempt conduct post-use for content (Interchange 3) at intermediate level proficiency courses. It aims determine areas strengths weaknesses textbook see what extent it was appropriate helping learners improve their from teachers’ perspectives. analyzed using descriptive analysis method. For this purpose, 23 teachers who taught six different were asked participate data obtained through 24-item questionnaire suggested by Demir Ertaș (2014). results indicated highly satisfied with under regardless some deficiencies certain aspects - suited teaching/ context as could provide sufficient meaningful opportunities communicate target language.
